Absolutely, but I challenged the author for presenting his anecdotal, subjective experiences as objective fact. I also made it clear that I resent what I perceive to be hostile, and unwittingly racist approach. I believe it’s counterproductive.

You’re right in that racism and bigotry is still a big problem, but I don’t think we build positive and healthy race relationships by being racist.
