Americans Can and Ought to do Better, but Not with Reverse Racism.

I wholeheartedly and unequivocally condemn the brutal and barbaric killing of George Floyd by 4 police men. I pray that we get justice.

I 💯 definitely condemn the attempts of the likes of Candace Owen to prioritize Floyd’s alleged criminal past or character, that information is IRRELEVANT to the crisis at hand.

As an independently minded black American, I totally disagree with the SPECIFIC SEGMENT in this video that condones, advocates and justifies violence such as looting and destruction of property. I hear her passion, but I don’t agree with her reasoning. To me this kind of message is an indiscriminate declaration of war against all, including your own. We have to be very careful talking about a social contract in terms of a monolithic US against THEM.

The vast majority of blacks don’t have an equal opportunity, and I see no reason why we can’t leverage the electoral system for life improving affirmative action policies.

A substantially and disappointingly large number of blacks find the American dream inaccessible, in this sense I believe as Americans, if we are to be true to the spirit of the Declaration of Independence; we ought to do better.

Consider the following statements such as:

1) White people do better.

2) If you’re not part of the solution you’re racist.

3) White people, looting is what you do, and we learned that from you.
