Do we have statistics to compare the damage caused by so called “substantiated” and “scientific” treatment to that caused by the “unsubstantiated”? My understanding is that a great deal of damage, and side effects (the long term of which we still don’t know) are a function of the so called “substantiated.”
A bigger problem I think is the formidable cost of mental health counseling, and for the training to become a mental health counselor.
In my personal situation, I’ve found balancing the substantiated, with “not as well substantiated” alternative medicine, has been pivotal for my success. Unfortunately, Big Pharma, and the licensed industry have the resources to “substantiate” their findings, while the field of alternative medicine and mental health does not.
