I know you mean well, but your repeated propositions about “white people,” are racist. Yes, I know you’re white, but I’m actually using the definition of racism here. You are nobly identifying a problem, but I don’t think the tone of your article is the solution. It’s yet another example of it presumably being ok to “punch up” but not “punch down.”

The more we start thinking about race relations as opposed to racism, the better. A sensitive wielding of emotional intelligence is necessary. I’ve experienced racism in the US, just as I’ve experienced tribalism in Sierra Leone, but I also owe a great deal for my academic and commercial success to “White people.” Thanks nonetheless for your motivation.
