If we agree that affect (displeasure) is a biochemical function of interoception, then I’d debate that the best way to positively manage it, is biochemistry. Meditation, exercise, diet and even dare I say medication are all ways to toggle displeasure to pleasure. Cognitive behavioral therapy does have its place of course; I recall reading that negative emotions are 40% CBT, 40% genetic and only 20% circumstantial events.
