I’m a big fan of Chappelle, and I thought the set on abortion was hilarious and profound. Overall though I was disappointed particularly because I think he showed a surprising amount of ignorance when it came to depression (Anthony Bourdain) and the genuine trauma that the Transgender go through with self identification. I’m not being critical because of his choice of targets, but simply stating my opinion that those jokes weren’t funny. I can’t say I found his pedophilia jokes funny either. I understand the goal of a comedian to push boundaries, I just don’t think that he did a good job. Perhaps he was trying too hard to shock.
