Is it likely that older people, may process more difficult problems than the young?

…suffers. So it’s harder to recall names, where the car is parked, or phone numbers (if you had to). The brain's speed of processing information also becomes weaker but on the positive side, the research clearly shows that given extra time older people perform tasks on par with younger people.

Is it likely that older people, may process more difficult problems than the young? It seems intuitive to me that the brain gets sharper with age, if not faster.
