Many times there is a direct correlation and causation between privilege and power. It’s a distraction to think about this in terms of race, gender or sexual orientation. If you go to any African country, the strong and powerful have privileges that the weak do not have, regardless of the fact that they are of the same race. Power inequalities are a fact of life and it always strikes me as an oxymoron when equality is demanded on the basis of being weaker.
