Thanks for responding Alison Malisa. I highlighted why I think you agree with me. Humans need other, and I’m a mighty advocate for the virtue of sociability. Needing each other and interdependence implies an exchange of value.

I believe I value (affectively) every single person on the planet, but there are conditions and a prioritization for who I gift value (utility).

Humans need each other, but we don’t need every single human on the planet. We are very particular about who we choose to depend on. CS Lewis distinguishes between need love and gift love. My article is about love, not dependency. I need a job, but that doesn’t mean I love my employer.
