The late Dr. Helen Fisher (may she RIP 🙏🏾) defined love in terms of neuroscience to be lust, romance, attachment. Masturbation is about relieving lust. Reading your article made me ponder just how much more beneficial romantic love can be, although (justifiably?) dramatically more financially and psychologically costly.
