When Women Boast About Being High Maintenance

Some of the most amusing women I’ve encountered, are those that claim to be high maintenance. When a woman claims to be high maintenance, it can be demeaning as it suggests that she is incapable of achieving or maintaining the lifestyle she desires on her own, and her value as a partner is based solely on her ability to demand attention, resources, or luxury items.

Furthermore, she. unfortunately confuses her “high maintenance” needs with the value she brings to the table as a partner. This can cause her to feel entitled to the other person’s resources and attention rather than prioritizing qualities that contribute to a healthy and fulfilling relationship, such as communication, trust, and emotional support.

Moreover, the term “high maintenance” is an oxymoron because it combines two words that are contradictory. “High” implies something of elevated quality, status, or importance, while “maintenance” implies something that requires effort and resources to keep it in good condition. Therefore, the term “high maintenance” suggests something or someone of high quality that also requires a lot of effort and resources to maintain, which is contradictory.

I find it’s also a self demeaning term because it implies that she is incapable of achieving or maintaining the lifestyle she craves on her own. It also suggests that…
