Why in this day and age though is the onus on men to do the ‘asking out’? Is there anything intrinsically wrong if either gender took the initiative? I think if it’s the responsibility of one person to take the lead financially, starting with paying in full for the date, why can’t the other take the lead with the asking out? If they ‘are’ splitting the tab, then perhaps they can both do the chasing.
